Rachel Slusky is a cantor and Jewish educator. She believes in empowering all lovers of Judaism through communal song, which is why she is thrilled to make her spiritual home with Temple Beth Torah Wellington.

Over the course of the pandemic, she has led musical virtual Shabbat and holiday services for communities around the country whose budget could not support a full time cantor.

In 2020, she was ordained by the Cantorial School of Hebrew College, simultaneously earning a Masters of Jewish Education from the Shoolman School of Education. She is also a graduate of The Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Being an ordained Jewish cantor means that I spent my years in seminary and beyond deeply dedicated to Jewish religion, music, scripture, and rituals.

  • For fun, I get creative everyday! I dabble in painting and digital art.

  • My pride and joy is the human voice and helping others become more aware and confident in using their voices. Primarily, I practice and teach a healthy and holistic singing technique. I enjoy helping people with vocal repertoire, ear training, how to sing with others, sight singing, romance/opera languages, and the International Phonetic Alphabet.

  • Please don't hesitate to contact me if you think that I might be a good teacher for you or if you have any questions. Learn how to sing healthily, or to read, speak, or chant Hebrew, for your B-Mitzvah. If it is a matter of price, we can work it out. I look forward to our lessons together!

אָשִׁירָה לַיהוָה בְּחַיָּי אֲזַמְּרָה לֵאלֹהַי בְּעוֹדִי

I will sing to Adonai as long as I live; all my life I will chant to my God. (Psalms 146:2)
